The Adidas Copa Mundial has been in continuous production since 1979 — a kangaroo-leather football boot with a die-cut PU outsole and a fold-over tongue, still made in the Scheinfeld factory in Germany. It is the most-worn boot in World Cup history. The leather softens to the shape of the foot within a few sessions; the sole is thin enough to feel the ball and stiff enough to protect the arch. Nothing about the design has changed in forty-five years, because nothing needed to. It's the boot for anyone who thinks a piece of sport equipment should be as considered as anything else in the wardrobe.
