The Stagg EKG is Fellow's argument that a kettle can be a design object without giving up any of the precision a pour-over demands. A single machined dial sets target temperature to the degree; the gooseneck spout, weighted counterbalanced handle, and narrow taper give the pour a steady, low-flow arc. Under the matte enclosure sits a 1200W element that hits temperature in about three and a half minutes, a hold mode that maintains it for an hour, and a real-time thermometer on the LCD collar. It's the kettle you leave on the counter — because it looks like it belongs there, and because every cup you brew with it is measurably better than the one before you owned it.
